Let Me Yell At You Media
It’s times like these that I need quiet, calm and solitude.
Over the past couple of weeks, I have felt people trying to push me into the world of serious politics and media.
I considered it - but it’s not for me.
I’ll tell you why.
This is a light hearted blog.
There are too many angry people. Too many people with grudges. Too much hatred going on.
Sure.
I get it.
Lots of people are angry with politicians, media and all the rest of the silliness in the world.
There’s load of people online you can watch. They get angry and talk loudly and aggressively.
Usually these are a lot of 'right wing' commentators - from Angry Jacqui to Angry Avi to Angry Jordies to Angry Stew to Angry Anderson.
You can watch Mussolini Bosi, Bossy Jacquie Dundee, or Deadly Serious journalists on Sky bitch and moan.
To tell you the truth, I’m really over it.
I don’t care for any of them. I don’t watch any one of them. I don’t want to talk about any of them. There’s so much silliness from both the left and right.
I don’t have a corner. I have an open mind to the fundamentals of the enlightenment: reason, science, truth, art.
It worries me that lots of young people - especially boys - are listening to bad messages.
Whether it be the 'Proud Boys' talking about the “West is Best”, or the Young Turks taking about their superiority. The clue is when people start using YouTube parlance: 'narrative', 'snowflake' and 'soy boy'. How many times can people say narrative in a sentence? I know where I’d like to put that narrative.
Let’s take the superficial Proud Boys. One of their core beliefs is that 'the West is Best'. Only a moron would say the “West is Best”. There is so much good stuff around the world. Here’s the thing, the best sushi in the world was never made in New York. Remember they took tiki torches to the streets saying “they would not replace us” (who they are is unclear).
Imagine the PTSD that would place on African-Americans who grew up during segregation. Just thoughtless boof-heads. My friend’s father could not get a loan from a bank so he built his own house. What would he think? It surprises me that censors never take into account tone.
Whether it is Jordon Peterson or Paul Joseph Watson or any other combination, I don’t want to watch angry people talking. Everybody is right - all the time.
That’s the way of the mainstream legacy media. For the life of me, I do not know why ‘independent media’ does the same. It’s called “Let Me Yell At You” Media.
There is no place for calm, softness or gentleness. Why not? Surely, calm and relaxed is a better way to go.
I guess suckers love stress and worry.
I think humour and light-hearted banter is better than faux outrage and offence.
It is not the end of the world to fail, to be wrong, to make mistakes. It’s not only human. It’s our way of learning. Media, politics, yellers - that’s for other people.
So I’m really sorry to disappoint people who want me to be someone I am not.
I like to write mellow, light hearted jabs and left field social commentary. That’s enough for me.
I love absurd things. I love Art. I love the world we can make.
Heaps of yellers over there - if that’s what you want to read and eat as the mental sauce on your brain spaghetti.
Otherwise I’m just going to slow coach it in my muddly quirky turtle way.
Have a great day!
In Peace and Parallel.
DB
Love everyone's comments. I'm with you Tomka - take it to the middle ground.
Hello DB
I like your ways, don't worry about politics. Most people think they have to have a extreme view to talk about politics. The culture thing is overrated. Culture is mostly just a face a place has gone through their history. Why people get obsessed with it?. Don't know, who cares.
I think you are a good influence, you talk about Jung, Oscar Wilde, etc, etc. You even introduced us to that dude. I think his name is sadhguru!
I personally grown up with 50 shades of Christianity and some BC. Which was a good thing but I also like to see how other people skin the cat in an ancomited way.
I really like you. You reminded me of my great grandma. She was a controversial figure in my family, one could say a sinner. But everyone respected her because she was always well manered, even when she was rude. I wish I could be like that. She loved knowledge as much as her aperance. She had a lot of books and was always reading me something.
I also like your quirkiness. I have a confetion to make. I have never given a comment to a you tube channel or a bloge before. I never had a face book page or anything. Before COVID I only knew google and Wikipedia. I decided to join the conversation after I saw the video of seline Dion song. I 🤔 here is a place where my silliness would not be notice.
I think you have a lot to give as you are to anyone, Young men or whoever.
Ps, even your fat shaming is having a good influence in me. I don't eat bad food but a like to cook a lot, I got very into the bread making thing, but after your constant comment I know is time to look after the body again.
Just share your knowledge or observations with us is good.
One day I will buy you coffee, for now this is all I can give you DB, dude.
Thank you Brendan for posting this. This is what I’m feeling too from both sides… anger, rage more anger more rage. It’s validating knowing others are noticing the same.
I understand why, I really do but at what point do you say “enough this is draining my energy “ - for me that’s today. Time to ban myself from the news for a bit to gain some equilibrium.
ps… are you poking fun a Ricardo Bosi… or is he another “wolf in sheep‘s clothing “ ? People seem to think he’s okay but I know very little about his backgroun… nor can I find much other than his recent court appearances re not wearing a mask at the airport 🤷♂️
Hey Brendan,
Totally agree, so much anger, extremes and one way or the other. To quote Deepak Chopra - it's the middle path we need to find...swaying one way or the other takes you out of balance and balance and homeostasis is what our mind/body and life require to live in harmony. (I am paraphrasing). Gentleness, peace and love to you and all.
